Calgary has more auto enthusiasts per capita than any other major North American city. With the closing of Calgary’s Race City there is no local venue to enjoy the sport of auto racing. Rockyview Motorsports Park (RMP) will put Calgary and area on the world motor-sports map!
RMP intends to deliver all of these things as well as tourism and tax dollars while minimizing the impact on those who live closest to the Park. How do we do that? It’s all outlined in our proposed Master Site Development Plan which has been updated to reflect valuable feedback from the community.
Our plan is to bring a world-class road course to Rocky View County. A place for enthusiasts to test their skills and their vehicles in a safe environment. This modern style road course will mean no grand stands, reduced noise, and much less traffic than assumed.
We’ve received overwhelming support for this plan from over 7,000 enthusiasts, including 1,400 from the Rocky View area. Add to that numerous letters from many regional auto dealers, car clubs and some of our closest neighbours. RMP fulfills a significant demand from the surrounding community.
The Calgary Police Service’s decision to locate its new officer driver-training academy at RMP aligns perfectly with our focus on safe driving with the ultimate goal of saving lives.
